"Richard please tell us why you came to live here at Maitreya Centre?"

"Living in a Dharma Centre provides me with an opportunity for personal growth, and helps me ensure my contact with Buddhist wisdom doesn't fluctuate to wildly."

"How have you found living here?"

"It's a calm, quite, friendly atmosphere. I enjoy cooking and eating together, as well as the chances for getting sound advice from sangha. The relaxed atmosphere, no TV!, the time to write, think and meditate and the friendly housemates."

"Mike why did you become a resident of Maitreya Centre?"

"I felt that I could only get so far in my Dharma practice living in my flat. Living in a Dharma centre gives me the level of involvement I need! It's lovely living in a spiritual community, great sense of all focused in a similar direction. Also I need pictures of Buddhas and virtuous objects around me to remind me to be mindful, otherwise it's all down-hill!"

"Do you enjoy living here?"

" I enjoy living here very much. The good times and "the patience of enduring profound Dharma"- times ! There's a great sense of community, because we are all from very different backgrounds- it's great for stretching the awareness out of your own mind and seeing how different people live in different ways. Also there's a sense of working through things together-spiritually and practically."
